Lithuanian Humanitarian Aid Arrived in Moldova
On May 14, a batch of protective equipment against COVID-19, worth about 20,000 euros, has reached Moldova. This is humanitarian aid, provided by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania to the EU Eastern Neighbourhood countries in response to the requests of these countries for humanitarian aid.
Oleg Tulea, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Alexandru Holostenco, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Security, and Kęstutis Kudzmanas, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania, welcomed a shipment of 10,500 protective shields for medical personnel fighting COVID-19.
"I want to express our gratitude to the Lithuanian Government for this support. This demonstrates once again how responsive the countries of the European Union are to our calls. It is a gesture of a reliable partner, which comes when circumstances require it," the Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Țulea said during a press conference. "Today, the Lithuanian Air Force plane delivered a support cargo made up of protective masks. We are very happy to provide help to the countries of the Eastern Partnership," Ambassador Kestutis Kudzmanas said.
