The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania allocated EUR 15 thousand in humanitarian aid to Yemen and Syria each and EUR 10 thousand to Albania.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania has allocated EUR 50,000 in humanitarian aid to Ukraine. EUR 25,000 in humanitarian assistance to help Ukraine will be transferred to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and another EUR 25,000 will be channelled through the International Organization for Migration.
The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania held a preparatory meeting of the Vilnius Forum on 24-25 October, where delegations from the Constitutional Courts of Lithuania, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine discussed the role of constitutional courts in ensuring the supremacy of the law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania has allocated EUR 20,000 in humanitarian aid for refugees in Myanmar. The funds will be transferred to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
On 24 October in Vilnius, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Darius Skusevičius met with Moldovan journalists from Gagauzia, Transnistria, Taraclia, and other regions. The journalists arrived in Lithuania to get acquainted with the country’s experience of European integration and strategic communications.
On 18 October, a squad made up of 34 Lithuanian soldiers started their service in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) as part of the German contingent. The Lithuanian troops will be responsible for ensuring the defence of the forces in the territory of the military base in Mali’s eastern province of Gao.
