Lithuania provides humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians affected by the conflict in Gaza

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has allocated humanitarian assistance of 30 thousand Euros to the Palestinians affected by the conflict in the Gaza Strip. The funds will be transferred to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which carries out assistance programmes to the Palestinians.

Unanimous adoption of Syrian humanitarian resolution: delivery of cross-border humanitarian assistance should not be hampered

In its explanation of vote on the Resolution 2165 on humanitarian situation in Syria, Lithuania stressed that when a government was no longer in a position to guarantee the safety and the basic needs of its citizens, it must not stand in the way of international relief organizations to do so. Over the last three years this crucial principle has been repeatedly violated, in particular by the Syrian government.

In Brussels, international donors agree to further support reforms in Ukraine

The high-level meeting to coordinate international support for Ukraine was held on 8 July in Brussels. The Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrius Krivas and representatives of most foreign countries, the EU, other key international institutions and donor organizations expressed further support for Ukraine’s sovereignty as well as the necessary European and economic reforms in this country.
